Heat Shrink Tunnel
Applies heated airflow to products that have already been wrapped or sleeved with compatible shrink film.
Best suited for Pre-wrapped products, boxes, bottles, cans and traysAUTOMATIC HEAT SHRINK WRAPPING SOLUTIONS
Seal, wrap and shrink individual products or grouped packages using controlled heat and compatible shrink film. ZONESUN provides shrink tunnels, L-bar sealers, side-sealing machines and automatic PE film bundling lines for retail and transport packaging.
HEAT SHRINK PACKAGING GUIDE
Heat shrink wrapping systems apply controlled heat to compatible film around an individual product or grouped package. The process can improve product protection, retail presentation and multipack stability while supporting continuous production line operation.
MAIN MACHINE TYPES
The correct machine depends on whether the product is already wrapped, requires film sealing or must be grouped into a multipack.
Applies heated airflow to products that have already been wrapped or sleeved with compatible shrink film.
Best suited for Pre-wrapped products, boxes, bottles, cans and traysCuts and seals film around individual products before transferring them through a shrink tunnel.
Best suited for Boxes, cosmetics, books, food products and daily goodsCreates a continuous side seal for products with varying or extended lengths before heat shrinking.
Best suited for Continuous production and products with varying lengthsGroups products, wraps them with stronger PE film and shrinks the film into a stable transport or retail multipack.
Best suited for Bottled drinks, cans, cartons and grouped packagesTransfer products into the wrapping area.
Align individual products or form multipack groups.
Apply shrink film around the product or group.
Cut and seal the film around the package.
Pass the package through controlled heated airflow.
Stabilize the film and discharge the finished package.
SHRINK FILM GUIDE
Film type, thickness, sealing characteristics and shrink temperature must match the machine and product.
Commonly used for clear retail packaging where appearance, flexibility and clean sealing are important.
Used for compatible retail wrapping applications according to the product and film specification.
Suitable for certain product wrapping applications when matched with the correct sealing and shrinking conditions.
Stronger and thicker film commonly used for bottle, can and carton multipack bundling.
COMMON APPLICATIONS
MACHINE SELECTION GUIDE
Confirm the product, film and required output before choosing a shrink tunnel or complete sealing and shrinking system.
Confirm whether the application uses individual wrapping, grouped packaging or PE-film multipack bundling.
Supply the maximum product length, width, height and weight, including the final grouped-pack dimensions.
Provide the film type, thickness, width, shrink ratio and sealing requirements when available.
Required packs per minute determine the sealing structure, conveyor speed and tunnel length.
The tunnel opening must provide sufficient clearance around the wrapped product while maintaining effective airflow.
Check the power supply, heating capacity, ventilation, conveyor height and available installation space.
SHRINKING QUALITY
The heating temperature must match the film type, thickness, product size and required shrinking result.
Conveyor speed controls how long the package remains inside the heated tunnel.
Balanced heated airflow helps the top, bottom and sides of the film shrink more evenly.
Incorrect film width, sealing position or excess film can produce wrinkles and uneven finished packages.
AUTOMATION OPTIONS
Suitable when products are wrapped separately
Suitable for continuous individual product packaging
Suitable for beverage and grouped transport packs
PROJECT INFORMATION
Sending product and film samples helps confirm the sealing structure, tunnel temperature, conveyor speed and finished shrink appearance before the final machine configuration is determined.
BUYING GUIDE
A shrink tunnel only applies heat to products that have already been wrapped. A complete shrink wrapper also applies, cuts and seals the film before shrinking.
L-bar sealing creates seals around a defined package length. Continuous side sealing is generally more suitable for automatic production and products with varying lengths.
Film selection depends on product weight, package appearance, required strength, sealing method and tunnel conditions. Product and film testing is recommended.
Many tunnels can handle different products within their configured opening and load range. Temperature and conveyor speed may need adjustment for each package.
Wrinkles may be caused by unsuitable film, incorrect film width, poor positioning, insufficient heat, excessive speed or uneven tunnel airflow.
Yes. Product feeding, grouping, wrapping, sealing, shrinking, cooling and collection equipment can be integrated according to the existing conveyor height and production speed.
