Sleeve Application & Controlled Shrinking
A shrink sleeve labeling system applies a printed tubular film around the required section of a container. Controlled steam or heated air then shrinks the film so it follows the container profile, supporting decorative labeling and tamper-evident packaging.

Sleeve labeling uses tubular heat-shrink film placed around a container, while sticker labeling applies a pressure-sensitive label directly to the surface. Sleeve labels can cover a larger area and conform to shaped containers.
A suitable machine can be configured for full-body, partial-body or neck-band applications. The cutting length, application height, mandrel and shrink tunnel must match the selected sleeve format.
Steam tunnels distribute heat around the container through steam, while hot-air systems use heated airflow. The suitable method depends on the container, sleeve material, label coverage and production environment.
Sleeve systems can be configured for round, square, rectangular, oval and contoured containers. Bottles with significant changes in diameter may require additional label positioning and shrink-control testing.
Compatibility depends on the applicator and tunnel configuration. Common shrink-sleeve materials may include suitable PVC, PETG, OPS and other shrinkable films, subject to application testing.
The sleeve applicator and shrink tunnel can be integrated after filling and capping equipment. Conveyor height, bottle spacing, production speed and accumulated heat should be considered when designing the complete line.
