Integrated Powder Dosing & Packaging

Powder Packaging Lines

Configure a powder packaging line for milk powder, coffee, spices, nutritional products, pharmaceuticals and other dry powders. ZONESUN systems can integrate powder feeding, auger dosing, filling, dust collection, nitrogen flushing, sealing, labeling and final packaging.

From Powder Feeding to Finished Packaging

Configuring a Complete Powder Packaging Line

Powder packaging performance depends on bulk density, flowability, moisture, dust generation and filling accuracy. The feeding system, auger design, hopper, dust control and closing method should be configured around the actual powder and package.

01

Bottle & Jar Filling Lines

Auger dosing systems for filling powders into rigid bottles and jars, followed by cap feeding, capping, sealing, labeling and coding.

02

Can Filling & Seaming Lines

Integrated can cleaning, powder filling, spoon feeding, vacuum or nitrogen processing, lid feeding and can-seaming solutions.

03

VFFS Powder Packaging Lines

Automatically form bags from roll film, dose powder through an auger filler, seal the package and cut it to the programmed length.

04

Premade Pouch Packaging Lines

Feed, open, fill and seal prepared pouches for coffee, spices, nutritional powders and other dry powdered products.

Typical Powder Packaging Process

01 Powder Feeding Powder is transferred to the filling-machine hopper
02 Material Conditioning Mixing or agitation maintains suitable powder flow
03 Auger Dosing The screw measures powder according to the programmed amount
04 Container Filling Powder is discharged into the bottle, can or pouch
05 Sealing & Closing The package is capped, seamed or heat sealed
06 Final Packaging Products are labeled, coded, inspected and packed

Common Powder Packaging Applications

Milk Powder & Infant Formula
Coffee & Cocoa Powder
Spices & Seasoning Powder
Flour & Baking Ingredients
Protein & Nutritional Powder
Pharmaceutical Powder
Cosmetic Powder Products
Chemical & Industrial Powder

Information Needed Before Line Design

Powder Properties Bulk density, flowability, moisture, dust and tendency to clump
Package Format Bottle, can, sachet, pillow bag, gusset bag or premade pouch
Filling Requirements Target weight, accuracy, package opening and filling range
Production Target Required output, automation, factory space and protection needs

Common Powder Packaging Formats

Package Format Typical Equipment Suitable Use Important Consideration
Bottles & Jars Auger filler, capper, sealer and labeler Supplements, spices and pharmaceutical powders Container opening and powder dust affect filling
Metal Cans Can cleaner, auger filler and can seamer Milk powder, coffee and nutritional products Residual oxygen and closure integrity may matter
VFFS Bags Auger filler and vertical form-fill-seal machine Powder sachets and flexible retail bags Film, bag width and sealing area must match the powder
Premade Pouches Pouch feeder, auger filler and heat sealer Stand-up pouches and zipper bags Powder must be kept away from the sealing surface
Vacuum or Nitrogen Packaging Gas-handling and compatible closing equipment Products requiring reduced residual oxygen Target residual oxygen must be confirmed in advance

Powder Packaging Line FAQ

What is included in a powder packaging line?

A complete line may include powder feeding, hopper agitation, auger dosing, container or pouch handling, dust collection, filling, nitrogen flushing, sealing, capping, labeling, coding and inspection.

Why are auger fillers commonly used for powder?

A rotating screw moves a controlled quantity of powder through the filling tube. Screw size, pitch, rotation and powder bulk density determine the appropriate dosing configuration.

Can one machine fill different powders?

One machine may handle several compatible powders, but changes in bulk density and flowability can require different parameters, augers, filling tubes or feeding methods.

How can powder dust be reduced?

Enclosed feeding, dust-extraction connections, controlled filling speed, suitable nozzles and lifting platforms can help. The required solution depends on the amount and behavior of the dust.

Can the line include nitrogen flushing?

Nitrogen flushing or vacuum-and-gas replacement can be integrated when required. The package, closure process and target residual oxygen must be specified before the system is designed.

Can powder be packed in both cans and pouches?

The powder-dosing principle may be similar, but cans and pouches use different handling and closing systems. Separate downstream modules or dedicated lines are normally required.

What information is required before configuration?

Provide the powder type, bulk density, sample, target weight, package dimensions, closure method, required output, accuracy, residual-oxygen target and available factory space.
